Hello, I’m Carrie.
I’m originally from suburban Chicago and I discovered my passion for lighting design while studying architecture at Miami University in Oxford, OH. I went on to further my lighting studies at the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where I developed my technical and analytic lighting skills.
I joined HLB as a designer in New York City working on a wide range of projects. I’ve got a little over twenty years of architectural lighting design experience under my belt and I’m excited about the next twenty! My design sensibility considers both practical and aesthetic challenges while maintaining a deeply-rooted commitment to sustainable design.
Spearheading the opening of HLB’s Boston office in 2007 is my proudest accomplishment. I’m very lucky to work with such an amazing group of professionals every day. I love to be involved in every aspect of my office (it’s not a surprise to my team if they see me take the trash out every now and then). Being actively involved in marketing and client development for the firm is a constant ambition of mine.
