W Hotel Boston

The W Hotel in Boston's lively Theater District includes over 200 guestrooms as well as 100 residential condos.  Interactive color changing lights highlight the exterior canopies, while the interior lighting is designed to create a warm glow from within.  The W's lobby includes a restaurant, bar and lounge seating area flanked by fireplaces to create intimate spaces.  The amount of glass and varied daylight levels provides the lobby a completely different feel from day to night. HLB collaborated with Bentel & Bentel to develop two complementary "modes" of lighting that reflects the time of day: "white for day and subtle "red" glow for night.
