A repetition of linear forms unites multiple office floors at one of San Francisco’s largest law firms.
Arnold & Porter’s Embarcadero Center offices underwent an extensive multiple floor renovation guided by HYL Architecture. Tasked with developing a consistent work environment to emphasize the firm’s collaborative culture, HLB’s lighting strategies were implemented while the client occupied the space.
Design concepts express a contemporary linearity reflected in both architecture and lighting. Offices, conference rooms, lobby, work stations, corridors, and cafe were designed around a “Garden Room” concept, which provides a communal and collaborative work space for associates. A bright and sharp aesthetic is realized with clean lines and modern interior design. HLB’s lighting design captures consistency and character within the space, complemented by the occasional pop of color and repetition of linear forms. By adding a soft layer of light on vertical surfaces a sense of space and depth is created for rooms with minimal daylight.
