Columbus Convention Center

Highly functional and flexible LEDs wash visitors with dynamic light.

Originally completed in 1993, the Greater Columbus Convention Center will give way to a new crop of visitors and guests as it responds to downtown Columbus’s ever-growing population. The project was another opportunity to participate in another LMN Architects-inspired project with aspirations for creative solutions and sustainable design.

HLB’s scope of work for this renovation included all concourse and pre-function areas, connector areas, meeting spaces, restrooms, food and cafe areas, atrium spaces and exhibit halls. The makeover enhances the visitor experience and will continue to activate the downtown area with the Arena District and the Short North Arts District. The result will be a new Columbus atmosphere in response to the city’s new direction of attracting visitors from far and wide.
