Cornell University – Law School Expansion

Warm and welcoming LEDs restore traditional Ivy League architecture.

In collaboration with Ann Beha Architects, HLB’s design team was able to cleverly integrate new LED lighting throughout, while restoring and augmenting historic lighting in existing portions of the building. Classrooms without windows and natural daylight were brought to life by placing lighting in architectural slots and along perimeter walls, making these spaces feel bright and active during classes. Pre-function areas are illuminated by integrated wall slots and coves which cast an inviting glow from within when viewed from the courtyard. HLB’s scope of work included lobbies, seminar rooms, classrooms, student lounges and commons, lecture halls, restrooms and outdoor terraces.
