Festival of the Arts Facade

Light to excite the senses — A veil of illumination re-imagines the connection between nature and art.

HLB was tasked to light the existing facade, new entry and plaza, bringing the canyon and the heart of the establishment, the art, together in a seamless way. The new facade draws from the natural beauty of the surrounding canyon and arts district along Laguna Canyon Road. Inground LED uplights, surface mounted graphic uplights and recessed LED downlights at the canopy help to tie in the new facade into one cohesive narrative — activating the facade and plaza area.

The new facade is part of the first phase of renovations for the festival grounds and the HLB design team is actively working on the second phase of design, which will revamp the 80-year-old “Festival of the Arts” site and art displays.
