Milton Academy – Pritzker Science Center

  • Milton Academy Science Building

Project Description

The link between light and learning — intimidated by science? Not anymore!

Transparency is the theme as this new science center supports collaboration and student interaction. Expressed through visual openness and translucent glassy facades, classroom walls are reinforced by uplighting on ceilings and well-lit vertical surfaces.

Designed in collaboration with William Rawn Associates; The Milton Academy, Pritzker Science Center is a 40,000 square foot building on 2 floors containing 14 classrooms and 4 inquiry labs. Celebrating Milton Academy’s commitment to making science highly visible, the dramatic interior and exterior wood ceiling is highlighted by an indirect fluorescent
uplight which defines the facade and creates a visual showpiece.
