Robert F. Kennedy Ambassador School of Global Leadership

Light enhances interaction, performance and creativity — one student at a time.

HLB collaborated with Gonzalez Goodale Architects on this 23-acre, K-12 multi-school campus built on the former site of the ill-fated Ambassador Hotel where Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968. HLB’s scope of work for the Los Angeles Unified School District included interior entry, and facades of the rehabilitated Cocoanut Grove nightclub which has become an auditorium and library, as well as signage lighting for school names and canopies. The site and surrounding park was dedicated to Robert F. Kennedy and other’s struggles for social justice.
