Project Description

Linear light emphasizes openness and visibility for the tech giants best and brightest.

Two six-story buildings set upon 8.5 acres make up Samsung’s new Research Center. The South Korean-based tech leader headquartered its U.S. research and development arm in Mountain View to achieve greater reach in the influential tech community.

The newly built project began construction in 2013, was completed in May 2015, met energy requirements, and was within budget. Like a handful of tech companies with similar standards, the Samsung research office was designed under strict lighting criteria supporting the company’s requirements that all light fixtures use Samsung LED light boards, which HLB successfully coordinated and adhered to. HLB was responsible for full scope of work which included public areas and prototypical offices and meeting spaces.
