Light inspired by the spirit of performing arts.

A non-profit organization, ZACH creates arts experiences that entertain, inspire, and engage the community. As Austin’s leading professional producing theatre, the performance space features a double height translucent Bendheim glass entry lobby facade, a main level lobby bar and VIP lobby bar, as well as a large exterior plaza space for special events. HLB’s scope included the theater house lighting, public spaces, facade lighting, exterior site lighting and parking areas.

Halogen and fluorescent lighting were both used extensively in order to meet the project’s budget requirements. Our work was designed to integrate with the theatrical and architectural preset dimming systems which set different scenes and moods for the various spaces. Sustainability was a key feature of the project, which achieved LEED Silver certification. In addition, energy use is demonstrated at 21% better than ASHRAE/IES-90.1 energy targets.
