Wow, has it been a year already? Senior Designer, Simi Veit, gives the 411 on how we’re making moves in the hip design community of the Magic City!
We saw an underserved market with the need for strong and creative lighting design – so, we explored our due diligence, made a realistic footprint, and moved some HLB talent to the Sunshine State. Thrilled about her big move, Simi recalls “I knew HLB had their “10:10” plan and I saw Miami glimmering on the edge of the map of potential office locations… and the rest is history.” Next thing I knew, I was scouting office locations with President and CEO, Barbara Horton.
What do you love most about Miami so far?
Miami has given HLB a new perspective on the design process with its colorful and magnetic culture – the inspiration is endless. “These projects are full of everything you could imagine that plays with light; glowing facades, translucent walls, skylights, green walls, wooden walls with glowing slats, glowing mesh, stairs wrapped in light… and the list goes on.” – Says Simi. There have been so many exciting new projects that kicked off the first year, giving HLB a strong foothold with local design firms and a reliable reputation with developers.
What excites you most about the future?
This is an exhilarating time for HLB as the new opportunities seem to be endless. The Miami team set some very aggressive business development and marketing goals and we’re not slowing down anytime soon! As we look towards the future and continue to produce design excellence in Florida, we see Miami as a strong anchor to expand into South America, the Caribbean and beyond. With boots on the ground we continue to “glow” and “grow”.
