121st Police Precinct

Staten Island, New York
United States

Featuring a remarkable 100-foot cantilever, the main entrance illuminates the surrounding streetscape. Gleaming lines throughout the façade and interior create a welcoming entrance not typically associated with police stations.

The project goals were to create a precinct with one lamp, one fixture, and excellent energy criteria. Rising to the challenge, HLB utilized linear fluorescent lighting fixtures to achieve outstanding energy performance while addressing visual comfort needs for the office. Two-lamp meso-optic lensed 2x4 fixtures add to the ceiling plane. The 121st Police Precinct on Staten Island will be the first NYPD facility designed under Local Law 86 and incorporated the Design Quality Indicator program.
