200 Park Core and Shell

San Jose, California
United States

Crafted as a pinnacle of modern architecture, 200 Park transforms the workplace into a hub for wellness and community. The lighting design plays a pivotal role in this vision, transforming the façade into a refined, signature feature. At street level, lighting enlivens the pedestrian experience with a vibrant ambiance, laying the groundwork for the surrounding urban redevelopment. The illuminated façade and site elements accentuate the architectural forms, fostering a sense of hospitality from the outside in.

A “magic light” effect washes the light canyons carved into the structure, requiring meticulous coordination to conceal the luminaire mounting from view and create a weightless feel. Pre-installing and aiming luminaires on the ground level ensured an efficient installation process while maintaining the lighting effect. To minimize impact on the community, all façade and landscape lighting is programmed to turn off during less occupied hours.
