Appropriately positioned next to Denver Union Station, Citizen Rail offers a unique meld of soulful, wood-fired cuisine in an elegant setting laced with nostalgia for the days of railroad travel. Anchored by an open kitchen design concept, the space is cozy, familiar and an inviting alternative to the bustle of the nearby train platform.
A networked dimming control system, with stations positioned in convenient back-of-house and reception locations, provides the necessary degree of flexibility to maintain safe lighting conditions for employees while preserving an intimate ambiance. HLB collaborated with the interior designer to select fixture finishes of dark bronze and brass that complement the decor and serve as a nod to the restaurant’s particular railroad-inspired aesthetic.
