Covenant House

New York, New York
United States

Serving the community of New York for more than 40 years, the mission of Covenant House is to provide housing and supportive services to youth facing homelessness and help put them on a path to independence. Lighting solutions were required to supply an air of warmth, comfort, and safety throughout all renovated spaces for both visitors and staff.

HLB was hired by the developer and worked closely with the architect and electrical engineer within a tight schedule and budget to deliver welcoming and nurturing solutions for visitors to Covenant House. Both interior and exterior spaces were made to feel warm and inviting to help foster recreation, conversation, and a sense of community. Semi-custom linear luminaires with flush, semi-dropped, and dropped lenses attached to the same housing provide visual interest while meeting project goals throughout the renovated offices, dorms, classrooms, and multiple community spaces.
