Revitalizing this ‘Art Deco Sanctuary’ while re-purposing the existing fixtures was no easy feat. Design of the main dining space needed to fuse contemporary updates within the existing lighting system. Matching color temperatures, incorporating new lighting controls, and meeting energy code requirements were of the utmost importance.

Existing site conditions created limitations for design updates, requiring the team to get creative. Since existing wiring and various luminaires had to remain intact and the ceiling untouched, HLB focused on utilizing LED replacement lamps. Layers of light were added to create a hospitable feel. Custom sconces were designed and placed into breaks between the banquet seating providing low level lighting which creates an intimate feel in the double-height space.
