A main entry point into St. Paul, Minnesota over the Mississippi River, the Lafayette Bridge is a key element in the city’s transportation network. The lighting of the structure highlights the horizontal line of the bridge from shore to shore, across the river. This provides a symbolic connection between the two river banks and ties them together visually across the Mississippi.

A primary design challenge included the addition of the subtle light to enhance already existing architecture with seamless details. Five years later the structure remains beautifully intact, creating a connection point across river.
