Modern Ranch Residence

Aspen, Colorado
United States

The Modern Ranch Residence rejects symmetry and centerlines, and instead celebrates in purposefully emphasizing the art of being off-center. Snug groupings of recessed lights highlight cozy furniture vignettes and colorful artwork. This balances the viewer's attention between the grandeur of the surrounding views and the interior environment. Pools of concentrated light support the feeling of intimate living areas within an open floor plan.

Massive architectural forms meet generous windows that flood the interior with daylight, illuminating the vertical surfaces with ambient inverse coves, dramatic uplighting, and adjustable accents ease the transition from daytime to nighttime. In the late evening, lighting scenes adjust to the dark and recessed exterior luminaires draw the eye past the windows and to the hills.
