Philadelphia Academy of Music

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
United States

The historic landmark ballroom of the Philadelphia Academy of Music was renovated to its original 1857 design. Interior architectural cove lighting and backlighting of the columns allow dramatic electric lighting to balance the decorative chandeliers and daylight. Extensive mock-ups and site visits allowed the perfect color rendition sources to be selected. A pre-programmed scene control system was installed for the various events that are held here. The renovation of the historic ballroom turns the second floor into a beacon seen from the exterior and offered an opportunity to improve the façade lighting.
