Indirect lighting incorporated throughout the interior of this dance studio is a key design element, creating a lantern effect and providing a soft glow to the building’s perimeter. Warm, high color rendering LED sources are used throughout to highlight the rich wood interior. Designed with this non-profit’s limited budget in mind, the all-LED lighting solutions are sustainable, affordable, and easy to maintain. Barn lights define building entries and are dark-skies friendly, while bare Edison lamps in suspended medium base sockets provide an element of sparkle to the interior, complementing the building’s straightforward simplicity and character. LED uplights integrated above trusses warmly highlight the ceiling and structure. Uplighting works in concert with hex cell louvers installed within accent cylinders to mitigate fixture brightness and improve visual comfort to dancers below.
