Graduate Palo Alto Hotel

Palo Alto, California
United States

Originally completed in 1929, Hotel President has been revived as a 100-key boutique hotel after its conversion to rental housing in 1968. The design balances the preservation of the building’s authentic 1930s architecture with Graduate Hotel’s eclectic brand.

The carefully lit facade enlivens the streetscape while establishing a charming first impression. Once inside, guests are immersed in both local history and creative contemporary design. Decorative luminaires create focal points while harmonizing with the historic architectural and bold interior design elements. Discreet general illumination and accent light sources provide a warm, inviting, and intimate atmopshere. The rooftop bar, known as the President’s Terrace, features warm and festive lighting that creates a playful and relaxing oasis.
