The design of Jacobs Medical Center embraces the idea that creating a comfortable, welcoming environment is as valuable to positive patient outcomes as the medical practices that occur there. Lighting for the facility is reminiscent of what you might find in a spa or wellness center with a focus on rejuvenating the human spirit.
Extensive studies were performed to create easily cleanable systems that respond to the desired spa aesthetic and parametric forms. Lighting is integrated in unexpected ways throughout highly trafficked areas and more intimate spaces like the chapel, contributing to a sense of caretaking and discovery for patients, their families, and staff alike.
