The expansion reinvigorates Kresge College’s campus, originally built in 1973, with the addition of three residential halls and an academic center. The lighting design celebrates the architecture’s warm, sleek design to create a natural extension of the surrounding forest, all while integrating modern, energy-efficient lighting and controls.
Flexible lighting solutions empower students and faculty to align the light levels with their needs. Thoughtfully integrated lighting accentuates the natural wood and warm finishes, creating a cozy ambiance reminiscent of a home nestled within the forest. Paying homage to the existing campus’s character, HLB redesigned the exterior light poles and sconces to retain their historic appearance while utilizing LED sources..
